An artist as well as
musician, I enjoy painting and photography. Recently, I have been
working on what I call "Paint By Numbers". Named that because of the
digital medium being used, I shoot photographs of various things
visualizing the potential artwork that can be created later on the
computer. A nature lover, I like to shoot textures and shapes that only
nature can produce and create something interesting to the eye. I
usually go for close ups and shadows to create depth and 3D illusions.
Sometimes it's done with just the camera by using certain angles and
lighting. The world is my medium or paint that I capture through a
camera lens and convert to a digital palette which is then placed
on a computer which is like the canvas, and the rest is all up to my
imagination to create the outcome.
The following is an example
of how I use shapes, shadows and textures to create an illusion. The
before shot is a close up of sand in a Zen Garden. I then alter it with
effects as seen in the after photo to give it a different appearance. In
this case, something that looks gooey and wet.
Below is a limited selection of my work for viewing. Mostly abstracts,
there are some more traditional photos as well. This gallery will be
updated periodically with new pictures and themes. So visit again to get
new pix and updates on gallery showings. Enjoy!
